Fondue Dinner

Last night we had Trent's co-worker and good friend Dave, and his wife Iris over for dinner. They had us over their house in Summerville for Lowcounty Shrimp and Grits when we first moved here over two years ago and I'm ashamed to say that we finally got around to reciprocating. It's especially shameful considering Dave actually got Trent the job here in Charleston. We tried to make up for it with fondue which is always a really fun time... dipping, cooking, dunking, chatting, laughing, eating and drinking. Good people. Good times.

Hope Your Hair Wins

Trent: "Um, what the hell happened to Rya's hair?"
Me: "Oh yeah, I thought I would save us a couple bucks and cut her bangs myself."
Trent: "If you're that worried about money, I'll get a second job. Don't ever cut our kids' hair again!"

Double Trouble

One minute it's all fun and games and the next these two are rolling around on the ground beating the crap out of each other over a piece of gum!

Bringing Home The Gold

Currier received a medal at his last football game over the weekend. He's so excited over his shiny gold medal and I'm so excited that football season is over!

A Night Out With Christopher

Trent's brother-in-law, Christopher, was in Charleston for a conference and snuck away one evening to take Trent and I out for dinner and drinks. We had a fancy and delicious dinner at Red Drum and ended the evening at Richard's, our local biker bar. Always a good time with Christopher!

Valentine's Day

On Valentine's Day we did a few things we love.

Stirred up a seagull frenzy on the Isle of Palms.

Let the dogs roam free on the beach and took in the salty air.

Melted

Phew, the snow didn't put up a fight at all. It's already all melted except for our Snowman who is clinging to life on our front lawn.

Charleston Blizzard of 2010

This is what we woke up to this morning!

Rare Snowflakes

It's snowing here in Charleston right now and it may even accumulate so we can play in it tomorrow morning!

Valentine's Festivities

Currier's class had a Valentine's Day party today. He chose Sponge Bob lollipop Valentine's for the classmate exchange and boxes of chocolates for his teachers, Ms. Jody and Ms. Susie.

After exchanging Valentine's, the kids decorated cookies.

And then ran around crazy on sweet sugar highs!

Life Just Got More Interesting

Look who knows how to climb up on the table now! And does so every time I turn my back!

Superbowl XLIV

I'm not a football fan at all but I am a big fan of food and beer so I really enjoyed the Superbowl party at our friends, Stacey and Mark's house last night.

Yum!

500 Yards In 12 Minutes

Our friend, Chad, has Coast Guard duty here in Charleston for the next two weeks and in his off time he challenged Trent to swimming 500 yards in 12 minutes. Chad won (Trent wants everyone to know that it was not by much!) and took great pride in his victory beer afterwards.

Living On The Edge

Look who knows how to climb on and off the couch now! It's apparently exhausting work that warrants a midway nap.

Happy Birthday Connor

Currier's BFF, Connor, turned 4 yesterday and his mom, Jessica, threw a wicked cool Sponge Bob Squarepants party complete with an awesome Sponge Bob cake and jumpy castle. Now Currier's already talking about his 4th birthday and how he wants a Sponge Bob theme. We'll see how many times that theme changes in the next 4 months!

Relaxing and Pampering

Our good friends, Chad and Najah, came and spent the weekend with us. We started their visit off with hot wings, cocktails and poker in to the wee hours of Saturday morning. On Saturday everyone slept in (except for me and the kids of course- grr!) and then since it was a crappy, rainy day we had no choice but to pamper ourselves with lunch out, pedicures, pizza and a movie. It was a relaxing, fun visit and it was so good to catch up with friends from our Sicily days.
