Baby Shower for Erin's Little Slugger

The girls at Arcadia threw Erin a baby shower.  We went with a Red Sox theme because this child is sure to be a "wicked pissah"!  Congratulations Art and Erin.  We can't wait to meet your son.

Summer Vacation

The kids spent a week in Florida visiting with their Mimi and Papi and all their aunts, uncles and cousins.  While they were away one would imagine Trent and I living it up but honestly we just reveled in the peace and quiet and caught up on some sleeping and TV watching.

Aunt Carrie and Aunt Beth drove the kids back up to South Carolina with a car load of cousins.  Clayton, Nyah and Kellie came and spent a weekend with us and Currier and Rya loved every second of it!

A Week Without Kids

Trent jokingly said to his sister, "You should take the kids to Florida with you for a week to see Mom and Dad!" and Carrie the good soul actually did it on a moment's notice!  While half of me is jumping for joy at this sweet taste of freedom, the other half is pathetically heartsick.

Fun with Aunt Carrie

Aunt Carrie came for a quick 2 night visit on her way down to Florida.  We squeezed in as much fun as possible including but not limited to mini golf and go-cart rides at Blackbeard's Cove.  Good times as always with Aunt Carrie.

Ella's Farewell 5K

I ran the Daniel Island Twilight 5K as a send off for my good friend, Ella.  It turned out to be about 95 degrees that evening with 100% humidity making it the most miserable race I've ever run.  I threw up in my mouth at the finish line and as soon as I stopped running I got a horrifying migraine.  I honestly think I may of had a mild heat stroke and I'd do it all again for Ella.

Annual 4th of July Cul-de-sac Party

Last night was our annual cul-de-sac potluck party to celebrate the 4th of July.  It was an evening full of delicious food, good company, lots of laughs, cold beer and fun games such as three-legged races, egg toss and sac races.

We ended the evening with a firework extravaganza in the street and more laughs.  As always it was a BLAST!

Sunflowers

The kids planted sunflower seeds outside of our garage and they have bloomed into beautiful bursts of sunshine.  I can't help but smile everytime I pull into our driveway.

Today I picked Rya up from school early for manis and pedis in the living room.  I love having a little girly girl!  Happy Friday!

Father's Day 2011

For Father's Day we woke Trent with breakfast in bed.  After crowding around him while he ate, we let him sleep in till 10am and then I woke him to mow the lawn (Happy Father's Day indeed!).
After our household chores, we packed a picnic and spent a good part of the afternoon basking in the HOT sun poolside.  We followed the pool with a long nap and a family movie night.  It was a good day.  Happy Father's Day Trent.  You are the BEST father I know.

Molten Lava

Uncle P.J. and Eliza gave Currier this cool paper mache volcano kit for his birthday.  We erupted the bad boy over the weekend and it was a huge hit!  Currier loves little projects like this.

Big Boobies

Rya came downstairs this morning and said, "Look at my big boobies!"  She's just like her mom minus the big boobies.

Stanley Cup Champions 2011

Currier only watched the 1st period last night before we put him to bed.  The first thing out of his mouth this morning was, "Did my Bruins win the Stanley Cup?"

We love that dirty water!

Kindergarten Enrichment Program

Currier was accepted into the Kindergarten Enrichment Program and by "accepted" I mean I wrote a check to the school and begged them to take him.  It's just a little camp that gets the preschoolers ready for their first day of kindergarten which is right around the corner—August 16th.

After completing his first day, I treated him to a Happy Meal at McDonald's and we finally tried the glorious Rolo McFlurry.  We deserved it.

Friday Favorites—Botox

This is pretty personal so of course I want to shout it from the mountain tops— BOTOX® changed my life! Several months ago I was at the dermatologist being treated for some skin irritations (even more personal which I’ll tell you about later!) when I happened to mention that I was a “wicked” sweaty person. I explained that I sweat so profusely from my armpits (especially my right) that I’ve been known to tape paper towels under my arms in order to wear certain clothes. My dermatologist diagnosed me as having hyperhidrosis (excessive sweatiness!) and submitted a form to my insurance company requesting full coverage of BOTOX® to stop the sweating. Similar to the way it removes wrinkles (and causes that surprised look!) BOTOX® paralyzes nerve endings and inactivates sweat glands. Who knew? My insurance company accepted the claim and I’m sweat free for free and it has been life changing!
