We curbed some of the summertime boredom with weekly trips to the library. 

 

By the end of the summer the kids earned reading medals, free tacos and ice cream and a brain full of awesome knowledge and silly things!

Isle of Palms

 

It's been an extremely rainy summer but we grab beach time at the Isle of Palms whenever we can. 

Florida Vacation

Aunt Carrie gave us a week without kids!  She took both kids down to Florida for a week to spend time with their grandparents, cousins, and aunts and uncles.

The kids had an absolute blast and we got some home projects completed, slept in, and enjoyed the peace and quiet.

 Trent drove down for a weekend to pick the kids up and gave me the house to myself—pure bliss!

SUP YOGA

Yesterday I tried a Stand Up Paddle Yoga class on Shem Creek.  We paddled for 30 minutes to the docks, took an hour yoga class and then paddled 30 minutes back.  It was challenging and fun and I plan to do this again soon!

Toothless

Currier took a knee (his own!) to his mouth in the jumpy castle and lost a tooth.  Then a few days later he lost another.  The tooth fairy is going broke this summer.

The annual cul-de-sac 4th of July party was filled with old fashioned fun... 

Sack races, water balloon and egg toss, three-legged races, delicious food, cold beer...

friendship, laughs and fireworks...

Rya and Trent won first place in the three-legged race.  They were beaming with pride! 

Gwynny—Only I’m Allowed to Call Her That!

One of my closest friends from Sicily came for a weekend visit.  Gwyn and I worked together at the travel agency on Sigonella Naval Station.  We hit it off immediately with our love of dogs, crafts and sarcasm.  Gwyn threw me a baby shower when I was pregnant and she was also there at the hospital the day Currier was born.  She was family. 

 

It was so great to see her and reminisce about our time in Sicily.  It was also great to meet her adorable son, Preston.  With a day at the pool and another day spent at the aquarium, the weekend went by way too fast but I'm grateful that she took the time to come see us and make me laugh.
