An evening dip to celebrate Currier's first day of being an eight-year-old and Rya's last day of preschool.

Currier's 8th Birthday Party

 We celebrated Currier's 8th birthday today at the house.  We had a Minecraft theme and set up the waterslide jumpy castle.

 It was a great day with great friends.

And lots of presents, laughs and silliness.  

Birthday Camping

Per Rya's request we rented a little log cabin on a lake at the camp site down the street from our house.

We took the dogs and walked the nature trail, we rode in a paddle boat around the lake, we visited a nearby Plantation via hayride, we fished, we told spooky stories, we sat by a fire and enjoyed the fresh outdoor weather.

The whole family really enjoyed this mini getaway.  But I think Rya loved it the most.

On November 17, Rya woke to a birthday breakfast that we cooked over an open fire.

Rya's 5th Birthday Party

We celebrated Rya's 5th birthday with her requested puppy themed party, gaggles of girls, yummy treats, lots of laughs and a mountain of presents.  It was a wonderful time!  

Paolo Turns Eight

Paolo turned eight today.  Everyday is a miracle with Paolo. 

Myrtle Beach Getaway

 

On Friday we drove up to Myrtle Beach for the weekend to celebrate Currier's 7th birthday.  Our first order of business was appetizers and drinks at Planet Hollywood which was right outside our hotel.   The rest of the evening was spent in the hotel Jacuzzi relaxing. 

 

On Saturday we spent the day at the beach and then went to Pirates Voyage—Dolly Parton's brand new pirate themed dinner show in Myrtle Beach.  

 

 

Shiver me timbers! The show was really incredible.  It was a spectacular mix of pirates, mermaids, acrobats, live animals, good food, cold beer, and loud music.  It was the perfect way to celebrate Currier turning seven.

 

On Currier's birthday (Sunday, May 19th) we spent the morning goofing around in the hotel pool.

 

We spent the afternoon day dreaming and drinking at a ocean view bar.

 

And we spent the evening riding rides at Broadway at the Beach.  FANTASTIC WEEKEND!

Come On Barbie, Let's Go Party

 We had a Barbie themed party to celebrate Rya's 4th birthday. 

 

I handmade all the decorations and food myself because I'm kind of awesome like that and Pintrest makes me feel like I can do all sorts of crafty shit. 

  

I stole the idea off Pintrest to make a life size Barbie box for Rya and her friends to pose in and it was a huge hit. 

 

The girls divided their time between playing Barbies upstairs in Rya's room and doing crafts in the living room.  Meanwhile the mommies chugged beers sipped cocktails in the kitchen. 

 

If Rya's wishes were anything like her mother's, she just wished that someday she'll see a live unicorn!

 

Rya received a ridiculous amount of presents including a ceramic doll that my grandmother gave me when I was a little girl.   

 

Later in the day, some clothes came off and things got a little wild which is the International sign of a kick ass party!

 

Tante Auguri Bruco

Bruco turned 9 years old today and we threw him a surprise party.  We've been planning this party all week and you have no idea how hard it was to keep this a secret from Bruco.  It all paid off though because I really think Bruco was genuinely surprised.  Look at him!  Doesn't it look like he had no idea it was his birthday?  Buon compleanno my pain-in-the-ass-neurotic-Italian-Greyhound. We love you and couldn't imagine our family without you, you naughty naughty dog. 

Batman Birthday Bash

To celebrate Currier's 6th birthday, we had a Batman party at the house with lots of water fun—a jumpy castle water slide, a blowup pool and a whole mess of water balloons!

My friend Jaclyn made the coolest Batman cake that was a huge and delicious hit with the superheroes.  To have her make a cake for your next party go to her website at Cakes4Fun.  

My talented and creative friend Rebekah took hilarious photo booth pictures of all the superheroes on the cover of a Batman comic book.  She also took all the party pictures for me so I could relax and enjoy the party.  Rebekah is reasonably priced and patient with kids.  Check out her website at Collinsworth Photography and set up an appointment for a photo session.  *If you dream up a photo booth idea, me and Rebekah can make it happen for you!   

The party ended with Currier opening an obscene amount of gifts and handing out superhero goody bags.  What an exhausting blast! 

Happy New Year!

We went to Florida to celebrate the New Year and Trent's 40th Birthday with his family.  His sister Kathy hosted the party at her house with an incedible Greek themed dinner followed by cake and a champagne toast. 

I can't think of a better way to ring in a new year and celebrate a milestone birthday than with this crazy crowd! 

Rya's Tea Party

We celebrated Rya's 3rd birthday with an elegant tea party.  Her guests were served hot cocoa with loads of mini marshmallows and fine edibles.  While complimenting each other on fashion and jewelry, the ladies decorated foam owls with flowery and sparkly embellishments. 

While finger sandwiches were highly suggested as nibble at high tea, her majesty insisted on tacos so tacos were served by Sir Currier. 

We ended the high-class afternoon with cupcakes, more fashion compliments and gift opening.  It was a fine afternoon that left the staff exhausted but pleased to see the birthday girl so happy! 

Buon Compleanno A Te

Last night we threw Bruco a surprise party for his 8th birthday.  He was genuinely surprised.  I honestly think he had no idea that it was his birthday and the T-bone steak that I was cooking was actually for him!  Bruco may be the world's worst dog, but he's our dog and we love him and his quirky ways!
