Today is il Giorno dei Morti, Day of the Dead—an Italian celebration of remembering our loved ones who have died. Since Currier is Sicilian born, we’ve adopted this tradition in our home. This morning Currier and Rya woke to presents “brought” to them from the dead. I’m sure most people think this is morbid but I think it’s a sweet way to open a conversation with my children about death and give them the opportunity to honor and cherish our loved ones who have passed on.
