Babysitter Italiana

We found an Italian babysitter! About a month ago, I saw a flier in our apartment complex for Italian language lessons. I immediately called the lady and asked if she would be interested in babysitting for a toddler that understands and speaks a little Italian. The woman was thrilled! Manuela and her husband are from Naples. Her husband works for an Italian company that is working on a project with Boeing. As it turns out, this project has brought a small Italian population to this area. Who would have thought that we would find a "Little Italy" in South Carolina? Manuela has been coming twice a week for a few hours to give me a break and to continue to expose Currier to the Italian language/culture. We feel so lucky that our paths crossed. È meravigliosa!

Oh that's so awesome! Who woulda thought is right.

Just in case it didn't arrive in your inbox, I sent you an email...the package is here and I'm *so* excited. Seriously I can't stop looking at the clock. So cute!

And tomorrow morning is going to be wonderful with my big ole DD travel mug....

Grazie mille :)

Hi Coleen!
I was looking through my archives recently and found a comment you had posted on my blog. I tracked you back to Bambino Balent, but by that time you all had moved from Italy, and started this new blog. That didn't stop me though, during quiet breastfeeding moments when I have a chance to read, I read your entire Bambino Balent blog, then finally got caught up on this one. It was fantastic! It has been so fun to see your little Currier grow up! I so wish that I would have had a chance to meet you while you were still in Italy. I really like what you wrote in a recent post, about loving being a mother... there are some moments that are just so perfect, and I really understand that sentiment. Congrats on finding your Italian babysitter!

That's amazing. Bilingual babies are so cute. Miss you

Our sitter is Italian, her whole family helps her with her small day care. We are hoping that Mad will pick up on the language - and the amazing cooking that goes on in that house.

Ciao Michelle,
I know right! I'm so excited to find a little Italian community here. Yes, I did get your email. I’m glad you liked to package. Thanks again for all your help.

Ro,
Italian babysitters are the best. I'm sure you can find one in Chicago!

Ambra,
I found you through bleeding espresso and enjoy your blog, especially the Buona Pasqua post. My vote is for the third picture! I'm glad you liked my "I love being a mother post". If you rewind three months, I had an "I hate being a mother post". I guess motherhood is a bit of a rollercoaster ride. But being the mother of three, I'm sure you already know that!

Kerri,
Mad will be cursing in Italian, involved in organized crime and making killer manicotti before you know it! :)

That's so cool that you found an italian babysitter! I'm already losing what little Italian I had picked up while in Sicily...maybe I need my own Italian babysitter ;-)

Hi Nicole,
I know. Isn't it amazing!? Yeah, I'm already forgetting a lot of Italian. How are California and the American life treating you? Hope all is well.
