Crafts With Currier

I've been trying to keep Currier busy with "projects" while I nurse Rya. Glitter-gluing decorations on little paper Christmas trees was one of such "projects". If anyone has any clever suggestions for other "projects", please email me. I'm always looking for fun/crafty things to do to keep Currier out of trouble.

Hell with all the "Scrapbooking" stuff you have just the Scraps should keep him busy for a looooong time!!

One of my favorite "Projects" as a kid was tissue paper crafts.. you get a piece of cardboard and tons of different color tissue paper (easy to find this time of year)a little bit of glue makes it soggy and he can practically finger paint with the colors, making whatever picture he wants. Its also fun to use on big coloring book pages.

Hope you have lots of fun!!

Check out Crafty Crow.. seriously so fun to browse and every now and then you score an easy, easy, easy and cool activity...

Like tin foil with tissue paper glued all over it. http://belladia.typepad.com/crafty_crow/2008/12/cards-from-artw.html

And the reindeer made from felt hands... easy peasy. (if you have the stuff!) http://belladia.typepad.com/crafty_crow/2008/12/handprint-reind.html

Impressive Christmas tree!

When Kai is nursing sometimes I play "Simon Says" without the "Simon". I tell Jett to walk backwards to the fridge, then jump up and down 5 times, then do a somersault, etc.

Also, my sister-in-law suggested scattering colorful things around the room, and handing Jett a paperbag and telling him to put all the blue things in the bag, then move on to the next color and the next.

Also, I cut out a bunch of snowflakes out of construction paper and put the little circle of tape on the back of each one and let Jett tape them to the windows.

Coleen,
I remember one of my favorite craft projects as a kid was to take the colored sheets of tissue paper, cut up into little squares, wrap them around them around the end of a pencil, put a spot of glue on the tip where the tissue paper is wrapped and then glue them in a pattern of some sort to make the shapes of Christmas trees, snow mean, santa claus, etc. You will of course use the same colored paper as your subject shape or picture. Pretty fun. Hard to explain, but I think you will probably get it. Have fun!
